An elegant maple that forms a medium-sized tree with an evenly branched, pyramidal to oval crown with a pronounced apex. The young reddish-brown shoots and red leaf stalks add a subtle color nuance, while the glossy dark green leaves, which turn blue-green on the underside, create an expressive, summery image.
The red flowers appear before the leaves, but in autumn the tree turns bright orange to dark red. It grows best in moist, non-calcareous soil. This red maple variety is sensitive to drought, salt and sea winds.
