This tree grows slowly, eventually forming a strong, often multi-trunk crown with picturesquely curved branches. In older trees, the bark becomes a true work of art, light gray with purple-brown spots and peeling decoratively, resembling a fine mosaic. In autumn, the tree's foliage seems to burst into yellow, orange, and deep purple hues.
