Story

This special garden took one summer to complete. The site was transformed from just a large plain lawn into a modern, multifunctional, homely garden, retaining and accentuating the scenic view to the lake as its main asset.

The large garden is divided into several areas with an inconspicuous transition between them. At the entrance there is a front garden with flowering plants; on the east side – a small herb garden, berry plants and some fruit trees along with a small terrace for enjoying the morning coffee. On the south side of the house we transformed a large cobbled square (approx. 400m2) into a homely recreation area. – It now has a terrace with two sections, a lawn and beds with a succession of perennials and grasses to create interest for every season.

From the direction of the lake the spacious lawn is partly hidden by the large area of planting, where tall trees have been planted along with perennials and flowering deciduous shrubs to give it height. At the very edge of the lake, around an existing birch-grove, we created a wild-flower meadow with mown paths that take you to a lovely little beach.
